[Raytrace] New Version Of OSLO Available At Lambda Research Site

     I received a note from Lambda Research (the owners of OSLO) a couple 
of weeks back announcing availability of the latest version.  Version 6.2.2 
may be downloaded from their Web site at http://www.lambdares.com/ -- just 
follow the link to Downloads and Demos.

     They have renamed the free version of OSLO from OSLO-LT to OSLO-EDU to 
lessen confusion with the "Light" version of OSLO.  (OSLO-LT was never the 
same as OSLO-Light.  OSLO-LT was a limited version of the low end Light 
version.)

     I have downloaded the new EDU version and have not noticed any 
problems with it.  (OSLO-EDU Version 6.2.2 seems to have fixed a bug I have 
previously had will all other 6.X versions.  It used to regularly crash on 
my system if I used the "File|New Lens..." dialog.  In the newest version, 
that dialog works.)  One nice new feature is that the menus now clearly 
show which features are only available in the paid versions.  Before, I was 
often unsure about whether certain functions were supposed to work in the 
LT version or not.  It is now spelled out very clearly in the menus.
